How to build a model solar home?
November 21st, 2008
Hi I am a high school student and I have to build a model solar home for my engineering project. The house needs to be pretty big with working lights and fans. I also have to be able to store the energy. And i am having loads of trouble figuring out how to do it...can anyone help me??
No problem, you will get an A if you follow my recommendations. First, use the solar power calculator on this website and select the number of lights and fans that your model solar home needs to have. You will get an estimate of how many solar panels you will need to accomplish the job. Down at the very bottom of the solar power calculator page is a link that will take you to easy, step by step plans for how to build a solar power system that will power the lights and fans that you selected. If you choose energy efficient lights and a small fan, you should be able to build all the solar components of your house for about $200. The solar power calculator is at http://www.mysolarsecret.com/solar-power-calculator.html and the link to the plans are at http://www.mysolarsecret.com/ (or just use the link at the bottom of the solar power calculator page).
