Do you want the nuclear plants in your backyard or wind and solar?
November 3rd, 2008
John McCain said that he will build many nuclear power plants and that doing so will solve our energy problems. I've thought about this issue and decided that I really don't want a nuclear power plant or its waste in my area. I would much rather see solar and wind energy used. I have seen many examples of people generating power for their home with solar and wind power generators.
Solar and wind power systems are so much safter and cleaner than a nuclear power plant. There have been lots of advancements by DIY solar enthusiasts that are fed up with big oil paying lobbyists to slow the advancement of solar and wind power technologies in the home.
News reports are increasingly showing people have built their own solar power system for their home and are saving big money off their power bill. Solar and wind power use to be too expensive for the average Joe. Only if you were rich could you afford a solar panel system on your home. But now solar and wind power are becoming more and more affordable for everyone.
To answer your question, I think John McCain is a big oil guy. Dick Cheney, who quit his big oil executive position to be Vice President, endorsed McCain a few days ago. Also, the Bush family has ties with the Saudi royal family. Author and journalist Craig Unger documents $1.4 billion that has “made its way” from the Saudi royal family to “entities tied” to the Bush family, according to Unger’s controversial book "House of Bush, House of Saud.” John McCain voted with Bush over 90% of the time.
I think a vote for Barack Obama is a vote for solar and wind power. A vote for John McCain is a vote for big oil and perhaps nuclear power plants built in your backyard.
If you really want to know exactly how John McCain is tied to big oil, watch this video.

NEW! SOLAR POWER CALCULATOR
This video will show you how to build a hot water solar panel cheap. It has great educational content for the diy solar minded individual. The workshop was done in Sept. of 2007 and Kerr MacGregor of the Carbon Neutral Biggar project hosts the video. This is a must see video if you are interested in building your own hot water solar panel.
Interesting analysis of solar panels. An explanation of solar modules and how they make up a solar panel and create energy. It's probably aimed at the lower intelligent crowd. The guy sounds like he smoked one too many joints in his life and he's talking really slow about stuff that is way too basic. It's almost insulting because it tells you that the person he made this video for he must think is pretty much an idiot. Nevertheless, here it is.
